Clients

Lee rebuilt our site so it is found by search engines and AI assistants, and set it up so our own team updates it just by asking. It is the first site we have had that we do not need an agency to change.
Toni Moss, Managing Director · Strive AV
Two thousand products, quoting, trade accounts and the wall-sizing tool, all built by one person who understood what we sell. Enquiries come through the site now instead of over the phone.
Matthew Dunne, Sales Manager · TopAV
The site and the app were designed together, so the marketing promise and the product match. We saw working builds every week, which took the guesswork out of the whole project.
Sri Rao, Marketing Director · SiteSurvey

About

Lee Moss

Awe Creative is run by Lee Moss from Haywards Heath. Most projects are one designer-developer, start to finish, with a second pair of hands brought in for bigger builds.

  • aQuotes are fixed. If scope changes, you get a new number before we carry on, not after.
  • bYou see a live URL every Friday. Not mockups.
  • cCode, design files, domain and hosting are in your name. Leave any time.
  • dWe turn down work we're not right for and say so quickly.

Questions

Do you build on Shopify or WooCommerce?

Yes, both, when they are the right fit. We also have our own commerce platform, Awe Commerce, which runs TopAV's shop of 2,000+ products. We built it because Shopify and WooCommerce lock down what you can change: on our own system a quoting flow, trade accounts or an AI connection is a few days' work rather than a fight with plugins. See Awe Commerce

How much does it cost?

Websites from £4,000, online shops from £8,000, apps from £15,000, UX fixes from £1,500. Every quote is fixed before we start. Any build can be spread over 12 months with support included, so a website is from £480 a month and a shop from £820, and everything is yours at the end.

How long does a website take?

Usually four to eight weeks for a marketing site. You see a live URL every Friday from the first week, not mockups.

Can you fix a site someone else built?

Yes. A lot of our web development work is taking over sites built by other agencies or on page builders and making them quick, accessible and easy to edit.

What are AEO and AIO?

Answer engine optimisation and AI optimisation: structuring a site so ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI answers can read it and quote it when a buyer asks. The audit at the top of this page shows where you stand today.

Where are you based, and do you work outside Sussex?

Haywards Heath, West Sussex. We work with clients across the UK, mostly remotely, with site visits when a project needs them.

What happens after I send a quote request?

You hear back within one working day with questions and a ballpark. Then a fixed quote, weekly builds you can see, and at the end the code, design files, domain and hosting are all in your name.

Who actually does the work?

Lee Moss, one designer-developer from start to finish, with a second pair of hands brought in for bigger builds. Twenty-five years in the industry and a degree in Web Systems Development.

1 · The questions

We read your site to work out what you sell and who buys it, then write ten questions a real buyer would type, at three stages of knowing what they need.

Problem — they know the pain, not the fix. {{ infoEgProblem }}

Solution — they know the kind of fix, not who provides it. {{ infoEgSolution }}

Product — they are comparing named providers, including you. {{ infoEgProduct }}

2 · The engines

Each question goes to Claude, ChatGPT and Google AI Overview live, worded as a buyer would ask it. We keep the full answer, the providers it recommends and the sources it cites. Nothing is cached from earlier runs.

A dash means that engine did not return an answer this time, and it is left out of the totals.

Online shops get a different audit: we pick real products from your catalogue and check whether AI and Google send buyers to your listing for each one.

3 · Strength of mention

Strong — you are named prominently: first or second in the list, more than once, or the answer is about you.

Weak — a passing mention, buried in a list, or you only appear as a cited source.

Not named — the engine answered and recommended someone else.

The small number is how many times your name or domain appears in that answer.

4 · The score

Each question scores 60% for the share of engines that name you and 40% for where you rank on Google for the same search.

Problem and Solution questions each carry 40% of the total and Product questions 20%, because a buyer who already types your name is the easy case. The hard, valuable ground is being named before they know you exist.

1 · The products

We read your catalogue from the shop itself: Shopify and WooCommerce expose it directly, otherwise we follow the sitemap into product pages and read their structured data.

From that we pick {{ infoTested }} products spread across price and brand, preferring ones in stock with an EAN, because a barcode is how Google and the AI engines tell one product from another.

2 · The four checks

ChatGPT is asked where to buy each product in the UK right now, and we look for your domain among the sellers and links it gives.

Google is searched for "buy … UK" and in Google Shopping, for your rank and your price against the other sellers.

EAN searches Google for the barcode itself, to see whether your listing is tied to that exact product.

Schema reads the product page for Product markup with barcode, price, stock and reviews, which is what the engines rely on.

3 · Strength

Strong — you are a listed seller, in the top three on Google, your listing is found for the barcode, or the schema is complete.

Weak — named without a link, ranked four to ten, the barcode is known but not your listing, or the schema is missing fields.

Missing — buyers are sent elsewhere, you are outside the top ten, or there is no product markup.

The small text is your Google position, or the price ChatGPT quoted for you.

4 · The score

Each product scores ChatGPT 35%, Google 35%, EAN 15% and schema 15%, with strong worth full marks and weak worth half. The overall score is the average across the products tested.

Where a product has no barcode the EAN check is skipped and its weight is shared across the other three.
